December 26, (THEWILL) – Bournemouth secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Fulham on Tuesday night, continuing their strong run of form in the English Premier League. Goals from Justin Kluivert, Dominic Solanke and Luis Sinisterra gave the Cherries all three points at the Vitality Stadium.
Manager Andoni Iraola made two changes to the side that beat Nottingham Forest last week, with Alex Scott and Kluivert coming into the starting XI. It was Kluivert, who opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time, finishing off a fine move started by Scott.
Solanke then doubled Bournemouth’s lead from the penalty spot after Joao Palhinha fouled Antoine Semenyo in the box. Sinisterra rounded off an excellent attacking performance by netting a third goal deep into stoppage time.
It was a comfortable evening for the home side, who controlled proceedings for large periods. Fulham struggled to create many clear-cut chances and were made to pay for defensive mistakes. To add to Fulham’s woes, goalkeeper Bernd Leno appeared to push over a Bournemouth ball boy in frustration late on.
The win sees Bournemouth climb to 10th in the table, while Fulham remain in 13th position. Iraola will be delighted with his side’s display as they continue to climb the table. Next up for Bournemouth is a trip to Tottenham Hotspur on New Year’s Eve.
