December 23, (THEWILL) – Inter Milan earned their fourth consecutive Serie A win after beating Lecce 2-0 at the San Siro Stadium on Saturday. The home side dominated the match, creating multiple chances before breaking the deadlock just before halftime through a Yann Aurel Bisseck header. They sealed the victory late on via a Nicolo Barella strike.

The first half saw Inter in control of possession and carving out several opportunities. However, some spectacular saves from Lecce goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone kept the match scoreless.

The breakthrough finally came in the 42nd minute when Hakan Calhanoglu’s free kick found its way to Bisseck, who headed home from close range. After the interval, Lecce showed more attacking threat, with Hamza Rafia forcing a good save. Still, Inter always looked the more likely to add to their lead.

The points were made safe in the 78th minute when Marko Arnautovic showed great awareness to backheel the ball into the path of Barella, who fired a low shot into the bottom corner. Things went from bad to worse for Lecce late on when Lameck Banda was sent off for dissent after arguing with the referee.

The win sees Inter strengthen their position at the top of the Serie A table, now four points clear of second place side Juventus. Meanwhile, Lecce remain mired in mid-table in 12th position after a fourth straight league match without victory.
