Joey Khan, I think you are belittling the massive exposure that the current crop of Nigerian musicians are enjoying and I don’t understand why.
The names you mentioned, Fela, Sunny Ade, Segun Bucknor, Majek Fashek etc, successful as they were(Some even more talented than the current superstars) they never experienced the kind of success that Davido, whizkid, Burna Boy and Asake (to mention a few)are having.
The difference in my opinion can be explained by social media, collaboration with foreign artists, improved local production and possibly very large number of Africans in diaspora many of whom now have economic stability (let’s be frank, close to 90% of their fans are black).
