November 21, (THEWILL) – Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has distributed forty-six buses to members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Council, with a charge to work for the victory of the party in next year’s general election in the state.
The Governor, who performed the ceremony at the Benue Peoples House, Makurdi, on Monday, said each of the twenty-three coordinators will get one vehicle while the twenty-three party chairmen will also get one vehicle each.
Governor Ortom, while charging party members to run a rancour-free campaign to drive home their message to the electorates, expressed hope that PDP will win by a landslide in Benue State, given the performance of his administration in the past six and half years.
He advised the opposition party in the state, especially the All Progressive Congress (APC), to emulate the peaceful disposition of the PDP, so as to remain one another’s brother during and after the election.
Reacting, the State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Bemgba Iortyom, decried the massive destruction of the PDP campaign billboards across the state by the opposition party and called for a change of attitude so as not to hit the polity.
