The Cross River State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party has faulted the state governor, Prof Ben Ayade, on the status of the Ogoja Rice Mill.

The rice mill is one of the governor’s major projects aimed at harnessing the abundant rice produced in the state.

Governor Ayade recently posted pictures of the mill on his Facebook page and declared the project completed and functional.

However, debunking the governor’s claim, the Publicity Secretary of the PDP in the state, Mike Ojisi, said this is far from the reality.

Ojisi’s statement was titled – “Ogoja Rice Factory: Ben Ayade And His End-time Lies.”

The statement read in part, “As a party, we are not shocked by this particular lie because telling lies remain the only thing that Governor Ben Ayade is very consistent in doing.

“Furthermore, we make bold to state categorically that there is no form of production going on in the phantom Ogoja Rice factory, rather Ben Ayade had resorted to “bagging and rebranding” of imported rice, just to cajole the general public into buying into his lies.”

To make the mockery worse, the real producers of Ogoja Rice have since dissociated themselves from the charade engineered by Ben Ayade and his never-do-well minions.

“For the records, Ogoja Rice is a registered trademark of the Yala-born illustrious entrepreneur, Chief Paul Santos, who has established a thriving rice processing mill at Yala and is succeeding where the Ayade government has failed woefully due to unspeakable corruption and insincerity,” Ojisi said.
