August 29, (THEWILL) – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Gubernatorial candidate in Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, has described his choice of a running mate as an “act of God”.
Speaking on the occasion of a reception and solidarity declaration ceremony, held by the Berom Cultural Organisation, in honour of his running mate, Hon Josephine Piyo, Mutfwang insisted that although there were many equally qualified and credible candidates, the choice of Piyo was more a matter of expediency than legality or any other value.
However, Mutfwang used the opportunity to commend all other contenders who contested the Party primary against him, and appealed for forgiveness and tolerance from those who may be offended with the choice of Hon Josephine Piyo, as the deputy governorship candidate.
Mutfwang, who commended all stakeholders of the party, was particularly delighted with the Berom nation – the largest ethnic group in Plateau State, for the confidence and trust they have reposed in the PDP, and for pledging their support for all the PDP candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
To all the youths, Mutfwang said they are such a critical group that cannot be taken for granted, saying, hopefully, the youths will be a Crux and crucial component to drive the policies and programmes of his administration.
Reassuring the world, particularly the people of Plateau, that there are no legal or political drawbacks with the Plateau State gubernatorial ticket, he reminisced on the transparent and credible nature of the May 28, 2022 gubernatorial primary and cordiality and camaraderie among the contestants thence, and noted that the PDP has never had it so good.
He also reassured on the cohesion, understanding, harmony, and the forward moving spirit driving the Plateau PDP, and called on anyone who had contemplated protest to Sheathe their sword, as he also saluted those who have shunned the temptation of jumping ship.
He called on all to work hard and pray for victory to crown their efforts and sacrifices at the end of it all.
