December 24, (THEWILL) – Luis Suarez, the former star for Barcelona and Liverpool, has verbally agreed to join Brazilian side, Gremio, and is most likely to sign a two-year contract with the club.
The 35-year-old forward is currently a free agent after most recently leading Nacional to the 2022 Uruguayan Primera Division title. Suarez, whose contract with Nacional ended with the conclusion of the season has decided to sign a two-year contract with Brazilian team Gremio.
His new club was promoted back to the top level in 2022 after finishing second in the Brasilian Serie B. When the new season begins in April 2023, Suarez’s next game will be in the Brazilian Serie A.
This month in Qatar, Suarez competed in the 2022 World Cup, when Uruguay was eliminated at the group stage of the competition.
