Mandi received a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Northern Colorado with a Major in Mathematics and an emphasis in Elementary Education. Mandi received a Master of Science Degree in Elementary Literacy and Reading from Walden University, reflecting her passion for teaching literacy. She holds a Professional Teaching License through the State of Colorado and is Group Leader and Director qualified to for Preschool. Mandi has won Diocesan awards for her teaching abilities. She has taught since 1999 teaching multiple grade levels in Douglas County Public Schools, but to follow her passion for Catholic Education, she now teaches and works to grow the school at St. Katharine Drexel. She received accreditation to teach Catechesis of the Good Shepard and is currently working on her masters in Catholic School Leadership from Creighton University. Mandi, her husband Brad, and her 3 children are all proud to be parishioners at Pax Christi Church. When she isn’t teaching, she loves playing outdoors at the lake and enjoying the many activities which her children participate.
1st Grade Teacher
Lorraine graduated from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and Environmental Studies and a Post- Baccalaureate in Elementary Education (K-6). She has taught kindergarten for 10 years but feels so blessed to now be a part of the St. Katherine Drexel family. She enjoys developing a love of learning with her students and works hard to create a learning environment filled with creativity, play, meeting academic needs of the whole child and a love of Jesus. Lorraine, her husband and son are members of Queen of Peace parish in Aurora. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. In her free time, she loves being outdoors, traveling, and never misses a Colorado Rockies Baseball Game.
Special Needs Teacher
Jane graduated from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Special Education as well as a dual-certification in Elementary and Special Education. She received a Master of Arts degree in Childhood Education/Literacy from the University at Albany (New York). After graduating from college, Jane moved to Hawaii for her first teaching job. Jane taught Special Education (Pre-K through 6th grade) for 10 years in Waipahu, Hawaii before her husband Chad was transferred to Colorado for work in 2016. Jane and Chad have two children (ages 6 and 3) and both attend St. Katharine Drexel School. After staying home with her children for a few years she is excited to get back to teaching to help children have fun and reach their potential. In her free time, Jane loves being around family and friends and being outdoors.
Her primary career was in banking. She started out as a Teller at a Savings and Loan and advanced to becoming a Supervisor. She then moved on to a commercial bank as a Personal Banker opening all types of accounts including Savings, Checking and IRAs for both personal and business accounts. She also made all types of loans including personal loans and mortgages. She took many classes pertaining to bank products and leadership, became a bank officer, and had the honor of being employee of the year. In this new phase of her life, she thoroughly enjoys working as a Teacher’s Assistant at SKD. She does not have any grandchildren of her own so she can adopt all of the children for the day. They are so eager to learn and she enjoys working with them in a group setting or one on one. I think of them as my little cherubs. She loves all teachers that she works with at SKD are that they are so loving and amazing and sure they are angels that have been sent from God. Working at SKD along with counting collection money and being an EMHC is like she practices her Catholic faith every day. She likes to traveling (especially by cruise ship) music, movies and theater.
Pre K Teacher
Chrissy has been teaching preschool for 6 years. She spent 5 years in Douglas County. In 2019 she spent teaching at Blessed Sacrament Catholic School in Denver. She have always loved teaching preschool and teaching in a Catholic school has helped her realize the importance of teaching academics with a strong emphasis in the Catholic faith. Chrissy and her husband have two preschool-age children, Teddy is 4 and Lizzy is almost 3 years old. They have recently joined Pax Christi church and she is so excited to start her new journey at Saint Katharine Drexel school!
Alma received a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from La Salle University in Mexico City. She studied for a semester at the Santa Fe University of Art and Design in New Mexico. She graduated within the 10% highest GPA of her class and served as a tutor and a Teacher Assistant in Mexico City. She has broad experience in Advertising Agencies both in Mexico and the U.S.A. While working in the United States she also gained experience in translations and adaptations from English to Spanish. She is excited to begin her second school year as a Teacher Assistant for St. Katharine Drexel. In 2019 she received her Certificate in Biblical Studies from the St. John Vianney Theological Seminary Lay Division. She is married to Fred and has two kids ages 12 and 10. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, learning new languages, teaching, and volunteering at Pax Christi Catholic Church, where she and her family are proud parishioners.
Christina is thrilled to be on the SKD team and feels truly fortunate to be at a place where she can play and pray alongside her students! She received her B.A. in Organizational Communication with a minor in Leadership Studies from the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs. Before becoming a teacher, Christina was a Program Coordinator for the Center for Creative Leadership which gave her great insights into the business world and organizations. However, after four years, God redirected her path to education, and she received her M.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix. Before moving to St. Katharine Drexel, she taught Kindergarten & Preschool in the Widefield School District (Widefield, CO) for several years, was an early childhood teacher at Evergreen Country Day School, and was a 4th grade teacher at St. Mary Catholic School in Littleton. Happy to be a Colorado native, she was born in Alamosa and grew up in Colorado Springs. She is married to John and they are blessed with 4 beautiful children. Family life is her hobby! She looks forward to game nights, movie nights with popcorn and hot cocoa, hiking, camping, a good laugh, trying new recipes, time with family and friends, gardening, and planning for and embarking on summer road trips! Christina and her family also devote much time to various ministries at their parish – Light of the World Roman Catholic Church.
Sheila joined the staff of St. Katharine Drexel in 2019 as an Assistant Teacher. While the majority of her career has been in hospitality and retail management, when her three daughters were young, she became closely involved with their schools. She taught Vacation Bible School, Junior Achievement, and was a volunteer elementary school librarian. Previously, she was a teacher’s aide for the religious education program at Pax Christi. She also served as her daughters’ Girl Scout Troop Leader for 16 years, ages kindergarten through high school. Sheila strongly believes in providing a supportive, caring environment to instill the love of learning and reading in children. She and her family have been long time parishioners of Pax Christi and she enjoys giving back to the community.
Ann had the privilage of opening SKD in 2013, helping in after school care. She currently works in aftercare and as an assistant teacher in PreK.
Pre K Teacher
Liz brings over twelve years of education experience. Prior experience in education includes three years with Denver Public School, three years in Douglas County School District, and three years teaching in Nebraska. She taught kindergarten at Lawton-Taylor and has taught preschool at Crème de la Crème, Goddard and Primrose. She was also an elementary teacher assistant for three years. While at Fox Creek Elementary, she was a literacy specialist.
Liz worked as a grant writer for The Salvation Army and helped them get new grants through the Buell Foundation which led to a new playground at the Lambuth Shelter. She recently worked as a grant writer for a local non-profit helping them attain several grants through Rotary International. She is using this experience to help St. Katharine Drexel search for grants, write applications and report on grants. Liz is a member of Pax Christi Catholic Church where her son, Jack, was baptized. In her spare time, Liz likes to mountain bike, walk her dog, Buddy and attend her son’s music and sporting events.
Madi graduated from Springfield, MO with a Bachelor in Early Childhood Education. She moved to Colorado in 2019 and feels so grateful to be part of St. Katharine Drexel. She also works at a medical spa in Denver. She is so thankful to be working in two different work fields that she is so passionate about. She loves nature, especially skiing. At this point in her life, it is just her and her kitty, Suede!
Heather is thrilled to be a part of the St. Katharine Drexel team! She was born and raised in Northern California where she graduated with a degree in Child Development from San Jose State University. She has been teaching in the Pre-K setting for eleven years and has recently joined St Katharine Drexel from Little Blessings in Castle Rock. Her and her husband, along with their two beautiful daughters, live in Castle Pines and are members of Pax Christi. Both of her daughters were baptized at Pax Christi, and she was blessed to be baptized here as well in 2014. Her family enjoys skiing in Winter Park, hiking, playing games and watching movies together. They are also faithfully loved by our dog, Tucker. Her goal is to help the SKD child grow emotionally, socially and academically and knows that you are the primary educator in the development of your child where she is grateful to be a part of his/her growth. She thanks you for sharing the challenges and joys of that process with me. It is a privilege.
Karen graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature, and earned her Elementary Teaching Credential at Dominican University in San Rafael, California. She continued her studies to earn a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and Curriculum. Karen has extensive work experience in Colorado and California school districts most recently as a kindergarten teacher. She loves teaching preschool knowing the importance of early childhood education for the transition into the elementary school classroom. Karen appreciates this school’s curriculum goals of incorporating education with a Catholic community and is now also involved as a Catechist with the parish’s GIFT program. Karen has received her accreditation to teach religion through Catechesis of the Good Shepard. Karen and her husband Tom have two children and are parishioners at Pax Christi Church. In her free time, Karen enjoys skiing, reading, and all the joys of being a mom.
This is Lisa Keller’s 5th year teaching at St. Katharine Drexel school. Prior to teaching here, she was at Fox Creek Elementary. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master’s in Counseling Psychology, and a Master’s in Elementary Education. She’s a busy mom – she and her husband have four teenagers at home, 3 in high school and 1 in college. She also takes care of a zoo of animals including three dogs, a ball python, tortoise, gecko, and fish. She loves the beach and ocean, loves to dance, watch movies, read books, and spend time with her family and friends.
Amy is so excited to start her teaching career at St. Katharine Drexel, assisting Mrs. Christopher. She received a B.S. in Land Use and Environmental Sciences while interning at Roxborough State Park. During that time, she helped build the elementary field trip curriculum for the Park, and realized that teaching children about God’s creation through nature was a true passion. Amy has a special place in her heart for Catholic School education and feels right at home at SKD, having attended both St. Thomas More and Regis Jesuit here in Colorado. Being able to pray alongside her students is a blessing every day! Together with her husband, Amy has 4 young children and a feisty yellow lab, all of whom keep her on her toes while she’s not teaching!
Meghan is so happy to be returning to SKD for a third year as an Assistant Teacher. She lives in Highlands Ranch and is an active member of St Mark Parish. As a native New Yorker, she has lived in Colorado for 13 years with her husband, Tim, and 3 children. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Providence College. In her spare time she enjoys playing tennis, skiing, walking her dog and traveling.
