Police Rearrest Primeboy Over Mohbad’s Death

March 12, (THEWILL) – Afrobeat singer, Ibrahim Owodunni, also known as Primeboy, has been rearrested by the Lagos State Police Command on Tuesday, March 12.

Reports indicate that Primeboy was taken into custody during his visit to the State Criminal Investigation Department at Panti, Yaba, along with Ayobami Fisayo, also known as Spending.

According to a source, Primeboy and Spending had been instructed to appear at the SCID weekly as part of the ongoing investigation into the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

During their visit on Tuesday, Primeboy was detained while Spending was released after signing in.

“Both individuals went to SCID this morning as they were required to report weekly. However, Primeboy was promptly detained upon arrival, while Spending was allowed to leave after signing in. Primeboy remains in custody,” the source revealed.

Recall that Primeboy was declared wanted by the police on October 4, 2023, and he surrendered himself two days later.

Meanwhile, in January, Joseph Aloba, the father of Mohbad, filed an application at the coroner court in Ikorodu, seeking to summon additional witnesses to shed light on his son’s death.

Among those requested to testify are Primeboy, Spending, and Boluwatife Adeyemo, also known as Darosha, who were allegedly with the deceased at the time of the incident.

Mohbad passed away on September 12 at the age of 27, sparking controversies on social media surrounding the circumstances of his death.

The State Police Command, on September 18, 2023, established a 13-man special investigation team to probe Mohbad’s death, which led to the arrest of Naira Marley and Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, among others.
